Join us for this 1 day learn to draw workshop designed for the beginner or those who haven't touched any art for a while. You will learn the basics to get started in art.

A one day workshop on a weekend perfect for those who want to get a start in the basics of art to keep drawing or to move onto painting. This is the workshop to take if you feel like you need to gain confidence in art.

You will be learning:

- What materials to use and how to use them

- Where to start drawing and what steps to take to complete a drawing

- A basic measuring tool artists have been using for centuries to get our drawings to be the right size and shape.

- What you need to be looking for when you are drawing

- A process for correcting errors and making adjustments along the way

Artable has taught hundreds of people their steps to learning to draw. We believe that drawing is something that everyone can learn with the right teaching and the right tools.

All materials are included so you can just come along and learn the process.

Manuela Pilz

Manuela has been a practising artist and teacher for more than thirty years working and exhibiting in the UK, Spain, and Australia. Her field of interest is life drawing and portraiture using oil or charcoal. Recently, she has won first prize for the 2016 Master Skill Building Challenge at Watts Atelier. In 2017 Manuela fulfilled a lifelong dream to study in Italy and attended the Florence Academy of Art allowing her to work with artists trained in the classical skills that Italy is renowned for. Her initial training was at Sheffield Hallam University (UK) where she studied a Fine Art BA Hons course and it is there that she discovered a passion for working with figurative art.

“Every time I go to Europe or attend an amazing course here, I am itching to get back to my students and share what I have learnt. I believe it is part of an artist’s life to “pass it on”. There is so much amazing knowledge out there that shouldn’t get lost or forgotten. It needs to be shared.”
