Oil/Acrylic Landscapes in Tasmania NOVEMBER 2024 with Colley Whisson

Are you yearning to spend a week just to develop your painting skills where all of your needs are taken care of? Imagine stepping into a week where all your meals are cooked, where you get an entire bedroom to yourself full of plush linens and soft pillows. You start your day with a breakfast or a gentle walk in a quiet street before settling into a full day of undisturbed painting where meals made from the fresh backyard produce get delivered to you and a master artist is by your side to help you through any painting struggles. Occasionally you get driven to incredibly inspiring vistas and farmlands where you can snap more painting content than you could paint in one lifetime. That is what your retreat will look like. We call this ‘Colley Country’ because it features all of Colley's favourite subjects….Amongst the rolling green hills sits a single streetscape untouched by commerce or tourism. You will step back to a time where neighbours all know each other's names, where the local hotel is the meeting place and where food is hearty and home grown. Beyond the hills, lies an epic landscape in every direction. Green rolling hills, stunningly clear rivers in deep valleys and access to remote painting locations unseen by most visitors. This part of Tasmania will speak to every artist on every level. The hotel has been lovingly restored and curated by Artable founder Gillian who has brought together a decade of retreat experience to offer artists their non-sharing rooms at no extra charge, a huge light filled art studio, a comfortable group lounge complete with Chesterfields and fireplace, daily excursions to visit carefully selected landscapes and the very best local Tassie fare available. With a maximum of 10 students and paired with one of Australia's most renowned landscape oil painters Colley Whisson - join us for an experience like no other.

Welcome to Artable's carefully curated Tasmanian space - a quaint 100 year old hotel in the remote north east town of Winnaleah where you enjoy your very own bedroom and bathroom at no extra charge.
