Transform your photographs into works of art in this exciting workshop with Mo Godbeer.

We will be working with lots of techniques and hands on experimentation incorporating your own photographs with wax.

We will use methods such as dipping, pouring, incising, layering, glazing, scraping, image transfers, stencilling, imbedding objects, and texture and colour. You will develop your skills and vision to create your own works of art.

It will have a fun two days of creativity and learning.

The workshop will focus on experimentation and is open to all skill levels, photographers and non-photographers alike.

Previous encaustic experience is not necessary

There will be lots of time to play and experiment

Materials are included in the workshop price except for photos - see notes below:

1. Please have your photos printed out beforehand on photo matt paper ( I used Krisp matt photo paper from Office works)some A4 and some A5. We will use some mounted on board and some to be dipped.

You could also print some to fit on those painting boards that you can buy in the cheap bargain shops. These do have acrylic gesso on them but I will show you how to use them with your photos.

2.students may like to bring copies of old diaries letters, documents to combine them with photography and expand a photo project. It’s advisable to photograph the precious pages and print them using an archival inkjet printer just as you would print photographs. If you would like to use any of these items for image transferring please print on a laser printer as inkjet will not work for transferring. Remember to reverse the text in your printer if you want to use for transfer.

3. If you have anything you would like to use but are unsure of whether this may work or not just bring it along with you and I can help you with that.

I'm really looking forward to two days of creativity with you all, it will be an exciting and fun weekend of discovery and learning.

Officeworks can print images on photo matt paper for you.

Photos can be printed on an inkjet or a colour laser printer.

We do have a printer we can print images out with at a cost of $2.50 per print to cover ink and paper costs. We will also have some pre-printed photographic images for sale on the day.
