This workshop promises to be a vibrant, colourful, texture and character filled experience painting both small birds and botanical elements, and Heidi is going to walk you through the process every step of the way, to show you how it can be done.  Whether you're a seasoned artist wanting to refine your work or a keen beginner, there's plenty to learn and enjoy in this workshop. Don't be intimidated by the realism element - we trace our images to focus on the watercolour technique - beginners with an eye for detail will love it!

  • Improve your Painting Techniques: Wash, glaze and dry brush, this workshop has so much to dip your toes into.
  • Work in Layers: Explore the art of layering to create depth and texture across all areas in our subjects.
  • Texture & Detail: Explore creating a range of textures across the subjects and learn how to add details that bring your paintings to life.
  • Realistic Rendering: Develop skills in realistic illustration and rendering, enhancing your overall watercolour techniques and painting skills.

Please note that Artable does not provide refunds for workshops under any circumstances. If you provide more than 7 days notice, you can apply for a credit to another workshop. Check our refunds page for further details and COVID-19 related policies.

Please note that if a workshop is sold out a sold out sign will appear on the listing and you will be unable to book in. If a workshop does not have the number or spots that you require, a note will pop up saying 'out of stock'.

There is a cafe across the road and other food options nearby and also a fridge on site if you'd prefer to bring your own.

Street parking is available.

From time to time, we have to cancel workshops for reasons well outside of our control.  We try very hard to limit this.  Artable will give you a confirmation 21 days in advance.  Please make sure that you book accommodation that is flexible if you are travelling to us and we recommend travel insurance.
