Making your Mark in the Landscape - Greece - Sept 2027

Greece • September 18, 2027 • 11 Days

We are heading back to the beautiful town of Skopelos (made famous in the movie Mama Mia) in Greece for 10 nights with Debbie Mackinnon and Mike Staniford. Spend your days sketching and painting, swimming the incredibly warm and clear turquoise waters and exploring the greenest of all the Greek islands. This charming seaside village features old cobblestone streets and whitewashed alleyways overflowing with magenta coloured bougainvillea and brightly painted doorways. Cafes spill out over the waterfront, a favourite spot for one of our painting days that transform at night into candlelit bars.

This is a retreat in every sense of the word. We have curated an itinerary that combines our painting times with a sailing day to hidden swimming coves, visits to old churches and hidden beaches alongside plenty down time to shop and visit the local tavernas. Non-painting partners are very welcome and attract a discounted fee. There are loads of things to do on the island or the pool and a good book might also appeal.

ARTABLE RETREAT TERMS & CONDITIONS

ACCOMMODATION

Our Skopelos accommodation has been chosen for its views and its gorgeous terrace which we use as an art studio whilst we are there. With views comes a steep walk in and out of town. You MUST be walking fit to attend.

Please note that Skopelos has a very old waste water system that cannot handle toilet paper - it is a little strange at first, but all toilet paper is placed in a bin in your bathroom and it is emptied daily by housekeeping.

Rooms are allocated as single rooms with ensuite, there is a discount if you would like to share a room.

MEALS

We include all breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners. Other meals are pay as you go. We choose to give you only some meals as you might enjoy a quiet/early night in with some fruit and cheese or you might like to choose and buy your own lunches when we visit restaurants during the days out.

NON PAINTING PARTNERS

Non painting partners and friends are very welcome to attend. They will enjoy the same itinerary as the painters, without the painting! Please note that if non painters choose not to attend any part of the itinerary there are no part refunds.

STAYING BEFORE OR AFTER

If you are looking to extend your trip before or after we recommend a stay on the island of Skiathos. This lands you just a short ferry ride away from Skopelos for arrival day. It is a larger island with loads of shops, restaurants and activities. You will have plenty of time during our retreat to explore Skopelos.

CLIMATE

You can expect 18-23 degrees for Greece moving into Autumn.
