Birds of a Feather: Textured Australian Birds and Flora with Acrylics

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter looking to expand your creative approach incorporating impasto and palette knife techniques, this workshop will guide you step by step as you develop your own expressive artwork featuring birds nestled among native flora. Working from reference images and exploring shape, form, and movement, you’ll transform inspiration into lively, striking paintings full of texture, character and colour.

In this workshop, Julie will share her methods for:

• Developing expressive compositions with birds as the focal point
• Colour mixing and layering techniques for vibrancy and depth
• Mark making, impasto techniques, and brushwork to add flair and texture
• Balancing form and abstraction to create interest

Please note that if a workshop is sold out a sold out sign will appear on the listing and you will be unable to book in. If a workshop does not have the number or spots that you require, a note will pop up saying 'out of stock'.

There are several options in walking distance and a fridge on site if you'd prefer to bring your own.

PARKING
You can park in the surrounding streets or in the carpark behind the venue. Please allow time for parking as it is very busy around RQAS at the moment. There is an elevator if you need it.

IMPORTANT NOTE

From time to time, we have to cancel workshops for reasons well outside of our control.  We try very hard to limit this.  Artable will give you a confirmation 21 days in advance.  Please make sure that you book accommodation that is flexible if you are travelling to us and we recommend travel insurance.
