Large Scale Animals in Pastel (colour) FEB with Gillian Grove

Learn to create large scale animal portraits using colour (Pastel) with Artable owner Gillian. We will be looking at what colours we can use to create the illusion of light and shade, pushing the boundaires of what we think we can see. Combine this workshop with the Saturday charcoal workshop to get the best out of the weekend's lessons.

In this workshop, we will be pushing the boundaries of colour to create strong pastel artworks and finding the colours that work together, rather than repelling each other.

Strathmore 500 series charcoal paper
Faber Castello Pitt pastel 12 set
Kneadable eraser

A set of soft pastels - minimum 30 sticks of colour  no oil pastels). Please note, the more pastels you bring the more choices you will have around colour.

A set of pastel pencils.

2 x sticks of vine charcoal.

NB - I will be bringing sheets of pastel paper with me.

Please note, because I have altered this list from what Jess had, I will be bringing along extra materials for everyone.

At least 3 clear  colour photos printed to A4 size.

These workshops are very helpful when paired with the Saturday charcoal workshop so that both tone and colour can work together.
