Tim will work with alla prima techniques in oil and acrylic paint and layering techniques with mixed media both on location in the comforts of our art studio. Students can choose to work with one or more approaches over the week with guidance from Tim Allen - one of Australia's best contemporary landscape artists. The common threads will include mark making, different ways of seeing, and the surprising amount of planning, technique and thinking that goes into bold and expressive paintings. Tim’s teaching style is enthusiastic and engaged, with a focus on individual tuition and getting the best out of every student regardless of their experience. His demonstrations always allow a wide range of individual interpretations – everyone is encouraged to find their own creative pathway.\u003cspan\u003e You will be staying deep in the hills of remote North East Tasmania where a tiny farming community with a 100 year old hotel lies that is now Artable's Australian retreat base. Amongst the rolling green hills sits a single streetscape untouched by commerce or tourism. Beyond the hills, lies an epic landscape in every direction. The rich orange and turquoise seas of the Bay of Fires, stunningly clear rivers in deep valleys and access to remote painting locations unseen by most visitors.
