Watercolours - Gold Coast Art Classes
Please note that Artable refers out all of our weekly classes to local teachers. We specialise in 1 day WEEKEND WORKSHOPS for beginners in all mediums to give you the tools to get started in art or to gain some confidence before committing to a weekly class.
The description below applies to our weekend LEARN TO WATERCOLOUR workshops.
Watercolour uses the minimum amount of paint with the maximum amount of pigment. Don't believe anyone that tells you this is a hard medium to learn. We have taught hundreds of beginners the joy of using watercolour with amazing results and specialise in teaching those who have always wanted to learn to paint, those who are returning to art after a long absence or simply those who are looking for a new hobby.
In this class you will learn:
- Which watercolour materials are best to use and how to use them
- How to manage the water element when using watercolour
- Different tricks and techniques to get either a highly realistic look or a more creative look to your paintings
- How to work with and mix colour
- Facts around paper and more

Meet the Teach
Denise Scott
Denise Scott's passion for watercolour is proof it is never too late to start learning! After starting as a beginner a little later in life, Denise went from not being able to "draw a straight line" to cultivating her love for watercolour into a full time passion. She has been a long adored and trusted teacher with Artable and is the perfect teacher for beginners to the medium.
Denise trained in the art of pure watercolour and passes these skills along with a deep seated belief that 'anyone can learn' onto her students. Denise's stunning artworks hang in private collections nationally and her love of travel has allowed her to hone her painting skills both in Australia and overseas.
I never wanted to try watercolour, I thought they were too insipid for me, I love COLOUR - who would have thought you could ever get such beautiful colours with them! I think my love of your tuition and lovely group of people each week has done wonders for me!
