The Inspired Landscape - Acrylic and Pastel (5 DAY TYALGUM ART RETREAT) with John Turton

This workshop is intended to help students move away from just 'copying' images and into the 'Inspired Landscape'. Students are given the opportunity to work in acrylic on canvas with bold use of colour and learn about John's techniques for using pastels as an underpainting. The Tyalgum Art Retreat is a creative adventure that houses the largest gathering of the arts community within the Tweed region.

Part of our larger group art retreat, this is our most affordable art retreat on offer. If shared dorms are not your thing, then you are best to look at our other retreat options.

John Turton Workshop Description:

This workshop has been designed to challenge its participants to let go and make bold colour choices when creating landscapes. Enjoy full days in the studio creating large scale sized artworks as well as getting time to work through John's incredible colour usage with pastels. If you are a person that requires specific instruction,  then this is not the workshop for you as John works from instinct and encourages others to also draw on their creativity.
