Accompany the incredibly talented Sandra Temple in exploring some of the drawing methods surrounding animals. The Tyalgum Art Retreat is the largest gathering of the art community in the region. A whole 5 days are dedicated to practicing your arts whilst meeting likeminded people and learning from those with vast experience. 

This is part of our 5 day Tyalgum group retreat. You can pick you favourite artist to work with for the 5 days, but we all come together for meals and nightly entertainment. Please note that we focus on keeping this retreat affordable with dorm share accommodation, If you would like a more luxurious experience or your own room, then please look at our other retreats.

Sandra Temple Workshop description:

In this workshop which is suitable for all artists, participants are encouraged to use different mediums with similar techniques to create a finished artwork suitable for framing. Basic design, composition, design components and techniques which are useful when painting wildlife will be covered in a clear and simple way. Participants in this workshop will be able to  create a small artwork each day using either their own, or the teachers subject references, and on the fifth day, will use all their newly acquired knowledge to finish an artwork in mixed medium.

Meet the Teach

Sandra Temple

Sandra is self taught and has been a professional artist and illustrator for more than 26 years. During this time she has had a cartoon strip running for 8 years, designed numerous corporate logos, worked with the RSPCA, the Qld Police Force and quite a few City Councils as a cartoonist and illustrator. She has taught realistic drawing at numerous primary schools with a focus on conservational education, designed and made theatre costumes and sets as well as taught stage make-up, she has designed and made unique jewellery, illustrated 9 childrens books and written and illustrated 3 more.
