Botanical Watercolour - Peonies in NZ 5 Days November 2019 with Heidi Willis

A 5 day Botanical Watercolour class like no other. This trip combines it all - a luxury home nestled just outside Queenstown, one of Australia's best Botanical Watercolour artists, a day out to see Heidi's field work process on how to take photographs to be used in the studio and home-style cooking so you can focus on the art. We can't wait to show you one of the most stunning regions in NZ and help you to take your art to the next level. In the comfort of our private art studio each day, Heidi will teach you her highly sought after watercolour technique, drawing on the Peonies grown in the region. We have taken care of all your needs for this trip so that you can indulge yourself in a long weekend away to revive the senses and put in some serious art time for yourself. Don't forget the roaring fire, outdoor spa bath and tennis courts as well as 11 acres of property to explore outside of our studio time! Come and see why Artable is the leader in Painting Holidays. Limited to 10 students.

Our NZ Peonies Botanical Watercolour Art Workshop is the perfect extended 5 day weekend away for any creative watercolour lover. Staying in the heart of the South Island just outside of Queenstown with one of the best botanical watercolour artists in Australia, this is sure to be a weekend not to be missed. No matter what level you feel you are painting at, Heidi can help you to build a strong foundation for your future arts practice. Please note that this is a studio based workshop with no plein-air.

After picking you up in Queenstown, we will travel straight to our accommodation. Once you settle into your accommodations, we will meet in the art studio and settle in for our time here. Nights can be spent in front of the roaring fire with a glass of local wine and Gillian's nourishing home-style cooking (wait till you try her Apple Spiced cake using local NZ pink ladies) and days immersed in one of the best hobbies on the planet.

We have included time in the field with Heidi as we hunt down the Peonie growers & markets (with the possibility of phorographing the Lupins tha grow wild this time of year!).

Drawing on the incredible Peonies that thrive at this time of year (pending weather!!!), Heidi will be taking you through her techniques specific to botanical watercolour with plenty of one on one time and professional mentoring. With only 10 spots available, you need to book as early as you can - this workshop will sell out well in advance of the dates.
